INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Humane society officials say they were called to help capture nearly 40 dogs found roaming a property after the alleged owner had died.
Officials with the Cambia County Animal Response Team (CART) say state police responded to a property in southern Indiana County Thursday. CART officials say they were later called to help the Indiana County Humane Society in gathering the estimated 40+ dogs roaming free on the grounds.

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh running back James Conner says he is cancer-free, less than six months after being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.
Conner posted on his Twitter account Monday: "God is AMAZING. Just got the call that my body is clean of cancer!!!" Been a long road but God has my back. Thanks everyone who said prayers!"
Conner was the Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year in 2014, then tore a ligament in his right knee in the first game of last season.
GETTYSBURG, Pa (CNN) — Looking for a unique vacation spot?
Two historic homes on the Gettysburg Battlefield will be available to rent soon.
The National Park Service says both the Michael Bushman and John Slyder houses will be available for overnight stays starting on May 24th.
The Civil War battle of Gettysburg unfolded around the houses on July 2, 1863.
The Bushman home is a two-story stone house built in 1808.
GARRETT, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE:
State police say a standoff began around 9 p.m. when a trooper noticed Steve Burns in a garage along Jackson Street.
Burns had a warrant out for domestic violence and a DUI.
Police say when the trooper pulled up to the garage, Burns and a woman, later identified as Kelly Fairgrieve, who is wanted in Maryland for escape and obstruction of justice, ran into the house and refused to come out.
