Officials with the Cambia County Animal Response Team (CART) say state police responded to a property in southern Indiana County Thursday. CART officials say they were later called to help the Indiana County Humane Society in gathering the estimated 40+ dogs roaming free on the grounds.

Two historic homes on the Gettysburg Battlefield will be available to rent soon.
The National Park Service says both the Michael Bushman and John Slyder houses will be available for overnight stays starting on May 24th.
The Civil War battle of Gettysburg unfolded around the houses on July 2, 1863.
The Bushman home is a two-story stone house built in 1808.

Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — The Mifflin County coroner's office has positively identified the human remains that were found on a Brown Township property earlier this month.
Authorities say the remains are those of 51-year-old Joseph Anthony Shymanski, of Huntingtown, Maryland, who was reported missing on Labor Day.
Police say the missing persons investigation led authorities to the home of 47-year-old Brandon Holbrook, who has since been charged with murder in connection to Shymanski's disappearance.
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is still taking care of Senate business while undergoing treatment for depression.
Senator Fetterman met with his Chief of Staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Monday, where he is being treated.

The newspaper says Curley didn't respond to questions shouted by a reporter as four guards escorted her to a waiting truck.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An undocumented immigrant accused of murdering his girlfriend and leaving her body along US-131 will be going to trial. Wednesday, a judge found enough evidence to send Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a 25-year-old citizen of Mexico, to trial on charges of felony murder, open murder, carjacking, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm. He was previously arraigned on all five charges in the death of Ruby Garcia, 25, of Grand Rapids.

A new area code is being added to the region currently covered by the 814 area code, state officials announced Thursday.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission says it voted 4-0 to approve a year-long implementation plan which will lead to the start of a new “overlay” for the current 814 area code.
The new area code will be announced in the fall.
The 814 area code currently covers all or parts of 27 counties across the Central and Northwestern parts of the state.
KILLEEN, Texas (KEYE) — Cameron Chamberlain, the wife of missing Army Specialist Craig Chamberlain, has died, according to reports.
KWTX said officials on post confirmed the death on Thursday. The III Armored Corps said it is “deeply saddened” to hear of her death and sent its “deepest condolences to the family and friends of Cameron Chamberlain.”
The cause of her death has not yet been released.
KEYE spoke to Cameron just last week about the disappearance of her husband who was last seen leaving his home in Killeen on May 15.
WASHINGTON (TND) — As Memorial Day and the busy summer travel season approach, drivers are preparing for higher gas prices.
According to AAA, the national average gas price is about $3.61 per gallon. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) expects this average to sit around $3.70 from April through September, similar to the same period last year. This anticipated increase is due to higher demand and the Environmental Protection Agency's requirement for refineries to switch to their summer blend of fuel, which is more expensive to produce.

BREEZEWOOD, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials have released more details about the massive fire that broke out at an Econo Lodge in Breezewood this weekend.
The fire began Friday night.
Officials said it was an electrical fire and 13 people were displaced from the hotel that night.
The fire rekindled late Saturday night, engulfing much of the building.
Officials said the building is a total loss.
No injuries were reported.
The fire rekindled again Sunday morning, and crews were on the scene for about three hours to put out the flames.
Update: State police said small games of chance are illegal unless conducted by a not-for-profit organization.
They encourage Facebook users that encounter these groups to verify the group is hosted by a not-for-profit agency before proceeding. BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — One church in Bellefonte held its regular clothing bank Saturday, where folks could get all kinds of clothes for free.

Called monarch platform, the robotic endoscopic technology is designed to have a greater reach, vision, and control during a bronchoscopy procedure.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — It’s been nearly seven years since the fraternity hazing death of Penn State student Timothy Piazza.
Resulting legal cases are still being argued in criminal and civil courts, with another judge's ruling being made just this week.
The new ruling comes from the judge overseeing the federal, wrongful death civil suit filed by Timothy Piazza's parents.
Piazza died in February of 2017 after attending a pledge event at the former Beta Theta Pi fraternity house at Penn State.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A suspect has been arrested in an airport parking garage shooting that killed a Philadelphia police officer and injured another last week, authorities said. Police have scheduled a Monday afternoon news conference to release more information.
Authorities said the two officers had just arrived at work at about 11 p.m. Thursday when they heard breaking glass and saw several people breaking into a car in the parking lot at Philadelphia International Airport.
WESTMORELAND CO, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Greensburg say a 66-year-old man has died following an apartment fire in Hempfield Township last Sunday, according to a news release.
Troopers say the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Humphrey Apartments, located at 512 Humphrey Road, in Westmoreland County.
The state police fire marshal determined that the fire originated in the victim's first-floor apartment, but the cause of the fire is still unknown, the release adds.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A tornado destroyed homes, forced the evacuation of a nursing home and toppled trees and power lines when it roared through a small Oklahoma town, one of several twisters that erupted in the central United States amid a series of powerful storms that stretched into Tuesday. The tornado ripped through the 1,000-person town of Barnsdall, about a 40-minute drive north of Tulsa, on Monday night.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Cambria County man charged in the "violent" slaying of a missing Altoona man last spring appeared in court Monday morning.
Austin Kline was charged with homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of Richard Morgan.
Investigators say Morgan was found "shot and bludgeoned" at Kline’s home in South Fork in May of last year.
Police say Kline reportedly hired Morgan to help him with some work and later confessed to killing him.
A 37-year-old Tyrone woman has been charged, after police allegedly found a dead cat and dog in her home.
Tyrone police executed a search warrant at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at Roberta Ewing’s Bald Eagle Avenue home.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, during the search police found a dead pit bull terrier in the home, as well as a dead cat in a soda case on the basement steps.
The home was allegedly littered with trash and animal feces, with barely any floor showing, according to the affidavit.

Penn State's annual 46-hour dance marathon looked different this year, as it was held virtually, but the community still came together to raise millions of dollars for the Four Diamonds fund.

PITTSBURGH - Officials say a major bridge into downtown Pittsburgh is closed after a fire that began on a construction tarp.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said the Liberty Bridge is closed indefinitely while state transportation inspectors examine the damage from a Friday afternoon blaze.
Crews are conducting an $80 million reconstruction project on the bridge.
A Transportation Department spokesman tells the paper the fire started in a tarp being used to control painting work and spread to nearby plastic pipes.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Sandy Township Police Department have filed charges against a DuBois woman following an investigation into a two-vehicle crash that took place last September.
According to the affidavit, police were dispatched to the crash, in the area of Mountain Run Road and Route 255, on Sept. 2nd.
Investigators say the driver of a 2005 Jeep Cherokee and the driver and passenger of a 2012 Ford F-150 all suffered injuries in the crash.

BENEZETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE | Jay Township Fire Chief Brandon Kowalski tells 6 News that more than 100 acres of forest were impacted by Wednesday evening's wildfire, although he's not yet sure the exact amount.
Kowalski was the incident commander for the fire.

The American Red Cross said it critically needs blood and platelet donors now following a concerning decrease in donations as the country has experienced an increase in severe weather systems and historic travel.

The announcement made Thursday morning comes just one day after his charges were withdrawn for an alleged assault of his girlfriend. Team General Manager Kevin Colbert did say that the league is still investigating the incident and that Chickillo could still be subject to discipline under the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — More controversy and disagreement over plans by the Centre County Commissioners to establish new regulations for those working on large scale, county government construction projects.
The commissioners are considering what is termed a “responsible contractor ordinance.”
They say at least two of the commissioners feel it will increase worker safety on county capital construction projects, along with alerting the county to potential bidder issues.
But one commissioner isn’t on board with the proposed ordinance.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — The coroner has identified the Penn State student who was found dead Friday.
According to Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers, the student has been identified as 19-year-old Justine Gross of Summit, New Jersey.
The teenager’s cause of death is still unclear.
Sayers says an autopsy was completed and investigators are waiting on the results which will take about six weeks.
Investigators said Gross’s death appears to be an isolated incident and appears to be accidental in nature.
FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania's lieutenant governor is opening the pool in the official residence he doesn't use to children who typically wouldn't have access to one.
Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman announced Friday the new access to the pool at the State House.
The residence is on National Guard property, about 25 miles from Harrisburg.
Fetterman's wife, Gisele, will run a program to teach water safety and coordinate wider use of the 30-by-40-foot pool.
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Somerset County District Attorney Molly Metzgar says two individuals were taken into custody on Thursday following a "large drug bust" on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Authorities say police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound through Jefferson Township.
Police say troopers "observed evidence of criminal activity" and conducted a search of the vehicle.
Investigators say the search led to the seizure of a backpack containing over 160 bricks of suspected heroin.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WJAC) — Pennsylvania State University police are investigating a pornographic video filmed in a classroom and posted online.
University spokeswoman Lisa Powers says screen captures of the video were shared with university police to try to determine if there is any criminal activity related to this, such as nonconsensual acts or the involvement of a minor.

Middleborough, Mass. (TND) — A 12-year-old middle school student is speaking up after he said he was sent home from school for refusing to remove a T-shirt that read: "There are only two genders."
Liam Morrison, a 7th grader at John T. Nichols Jr. Middle School in Middleborough, Mass., told the Middleborough Public Schools board during an April 13 meeting that he was removed from his gym class a few weeks prior by school staff and told to take off his shirt because people were complaining that it was making them feel unsafe.
UPDATE:Cambria County, PA — The manner of death for the 18-year-old male involved in a drowning at the local Holiday Inn, located on the 200 block of Market Street, in downtown Johnstown, has been ruled as accidental, by Cambria county coroner Jeff Lees.

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — There is a unique problem in the Huntingdon Area School District.
School officials say its music department "doesn't have enough instruments to go around" as nearly the entire fourth grade class at the Southside Elementary School signed up for band next school year.
On Wednesday, the school district held a "walk-a-thon" to raise money for more instruments.
Southside Elementary School Director Rick Kane says the walk started at midnight in Huntingdon Borough and continued during the day until participants made it to one-hundred-thousand steps.

ST. MARYS - A shoe store in St. Marys is making sure veterans and active-military members have warm feet this winter.
As of Nov. 27, Shoe Sensation's Socks for Troops program has collected nearly 4,000 pairs of socks and 585 shoelaces for local veterans and active-duty military overseas nationally.

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a man is behind bars in Blair County after he allegedly robbed a delivery driver earlier this week.
Police say just after 2 a.m. Tuesday, 29-year-old Jesus Figueroa allegedly robbed a DoorDash driver on 7th Avenue in Altoona.
The driver reported that he believed Figueroa had a knife during the robbery.
After he was arrested, police say officers discovered that Figueroa was in possession of a black shard of metal that could have been displayed as a knife.
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County say a Salisbury woman is facing charges, accused of burning cigarettes on the skin of a young boy.
According to the affidavit, troopers were contacted in February to investigate a CYS complaint regarding burn marks on the finger and neck of a 5-year-old boy.
Upon further investigation, authorities questioned 66-year-old Miriam Housel, who claimed that the marks were "birthmarks."
Police say doctors at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh concluded that the marks were not consistent with any accidental injuries and were left intentionally.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Sheetz has announced plans to hire 2,500 employees companywide.
The company says it will hold open interviews for full-time and part-time positions March 27 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all of its 589 locations.

DuBois, PA — The Reitz Theater was the only building to survive the Downtown DuBois fire in the late 1880s.
Since then, Culture Resources Incorporated purchased the building and started the Reitz Theater back in the 1990s.
Recently they were awarded $300,000 from the Department of Economic Development for this theater.

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP – Richland Township police have made an arrest in Tuesday night’s armed robbery at the Honey Bear Mini Mart convenience store at 3100 Elton Road.
Police said they arrested Zach Nagel, of Windber, after getting a tip on Facebook.
Police said Nagel was armed with a gun and got away with an undisclosed amount of money around 7 p.m. Nagel also told the clerk "he would blow his head off.

Mattel is looking for a chief UNO player and it's dealing out big money for the role.
The company says the chosen candidate will earn more than $4,000 a week for four weeks in New York City.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Hundreds of athletes from around the area and surrounding states made the trip to Cambria County this weekend.
The Varsity Encore Cheerleading Championship -- called the "Encore Johnstown Showdown" -- is being held at the Cambria County War Memorial.
Organizers say just under 1,000 athletes and about 2,500 fans are expected to fill up the 1st Summit Arena over the weekend.
This event marks the first cheerleading competition to be held at the arena since 2010.
The grand opening of the new Domino’s location on Goucher street happened on Monday. The new location features new state of the art technology and services that the owner and employees are excited to share with the community.

Bellefonte, PA (WJAC) — Downtown Bellefonte is getting new artwork.
A one-thousand-square-foot mural, located along the 100 block of Allegheny Street, next to the Waffle Shop is nearly complete.
The mural was done by "Key Detail," from New York City, who have installed murals across the world.
According to Downtown Bellefonte Incorporated, the mural pays tribute to “National Air Mail and Bellefonte’s role in that rich history.”
The city also says that the mural will be officially dedicated, in a public ceremony, on June 28th, at the mural unveiling block party downtown.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. - Police released pictures of tattoos found on a woman found dead along a road in Ferguson Township Sunday morning.
Police said the woman was found in the 500 block of Plainfield Road around 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

Clearfield, PA — West Branch Elementary School closed Monday morning because of flood damage.
Michelle Dutrow, Superintendent of the West Branch Area School District, said the elementary school flooded overnight.
She said their HVAC system had 2 or 3 dampers that didn't close and due to freezing temperatures overnight, their pipes burst this morning.
Dutrow said there was flooding in 2-3 areas of the elementary school in the hallways.
The middle school or high school wasn't impacted by this flooding and stayed open today.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Alan Rauch of Johnstown spends his days making his visions come to life.
"It's exciting to wake up in the morning and think about, 'Well, I have this great idea that I want to put on canvas.' That happens to me almost every day," he told 6 News.

CRAVANT, France (WKRC) - An elderly woman sold her castle in order to live closer to her family. According to WECB, 88-year-old Colette Béchet sold her medieval castle, which is located in Cravant, France. Per the outlet, the donjon, or keep, sits atop an outcrop in the Yonne region of the country and has been something of a passion project. Béchet lived in the historic structure for over four decades, according to WECB, which reported that she saw the 25-meter-high keep back in 1983 while out on a stroll and purchased it the very next day.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County confirmed that charges have been refiled against the off-duty officer who was arrested earlier this year following a shooting at a DuBois-area business.
Online court records show that a new batch of charges were filed earlier this week against Zachery Dodson, who is accused of shooting and wounding another man during an altercation with the owner of Invictus.
This refiling comes after some of the charges against Zachary Dodson were dismissed in March.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — The future of what’s become a Jackson Township summer staple looks to be uncertain.
According to Township Manager David Hirko, the Jackson Heritage Festival will not be happening this year.
Hirko says he’s close to retiring, so this year he stepped down from being the event’s lead organizer, and no one stepped up to take over the planning process.
The annual festival was held for 15 years in Veterans Memorial Park near the Jackson Township Senior Center and fire hall in Cambria County.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The two men who fatally shot each other Wednesday afternoon in Johnstown have been identified.
The Cambria County Coroner’s Office, District Attorney’s Office and Johnstown police held a joint press conference Friday morning to provide an update in the case.
The afternoon shootout took place in the area of Broad Street and 6th Ave. around 2 p.m. when two men were driving beside each other and fired about five shots at each other, according to investigators.

PA (WJAC) — Both the PFBC (Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission) and the Pennsylvania Game Commission are warning fishermen and hunters about online licensing scams that have recently been reported. According to a release, customers reported that they had purchased licenses through a third-party website that looked similar to the real Outdoor Shop, the PFBC and the Game Commission’s online purchasing portal, but never received a license.
“The only proven, reputable and reliable methods for purchasing Pennsylvania fishing licenses and permits are through the PFBC’s online portal The Outdoor Shop or in-person from a retail license issuing agent,” said Bernie Matscavage, director of the PFBC Bureau of Administration.

PORTAGE, Mich. — A FedEx facility was severely damaged after a tornado ripped through Portage Tuesday evening.
Photos and videos show a substantial amount of the building, located on Portage Road near Ramona Avenue, is severely damaged, including a caved-in roof and flooding.

ALTOONA — Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Friday that criminal charges have been filed against 37 people accused of distributing or possessing illegal drugs in Blair County.
The charges are the culmination of a yearlong cooperative investigation between the Office of Attorney General, the Blair County Drug Task Force and the Altoona Police Department. The investigation primarily focused on the distribution of heroin and prescription drugs in Blair County. Molly, Psilocybin mushrooms and other drugs were also being sold by certain people identified in this investigation.

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Court documents are revealing new details about what led to a standoff between a woman and state police in Bedford County over the weekend.
According to a criminal complaint filed by state police, 57-year-old Catherine Imler is facing charges related to burglary, criminal trespassing and theft.
Troopers say the incident began around 1:30 p.m. Saturday when a man was washing dishes in his Bloomfield Township home and he spotted Imler, who was completely naked, approaching his back door.
SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, Calif (KMPH) — A charter bus that was carrying students from an elementary school caught fire on Wednesday.
First responders arrived at the scene on Highway 156 eastbound at Highway 101 in Atwater, California as the commercial vehicle was in engulfed in flames and smoke. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported due to the bus driver getting everyone off the bus safely, reported KMPH.
NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say gunfire at a popular Halloween attraction in western Pennsylvania killed one teenager and critically wounded another - with another teenager being sought as a suspect. Allegheny County police said the shooting was reported at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday at the Haunted Hills Hayride in North Versailles. First responders found two 15-year-old youths shot and took them to hospitals, where one was pronounced dead in the emergency room and the other was listed in critical condition.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — City Council, in a 4-3 vote, approved a liquor license transfer for the Sheetz on Broad Street, paving the way for the convenience store to continue a statewide beer-selling trend.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board will still have to approve the transfer, which requires the Sheetz to do a remodel to add seating for 30 people, among other things.
Ellen Freeman, a lawyer representing Sheetz at the Wednesday night meeting, said this vote is the beginning of the process, not the end.

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Is Penn State moving closer to closing some Commonwealth campuses?
That’s a primary question with the university now offering buyouts to commonwealth campus employees, which they're calling "voluntary separations."
Penn State says the decision is due to a significant drop in enrollment at the campuses while it continues to work on lowering its operating budget deficit.
The university says involuntary layoffs could happen in the future.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa — A report from the Humane Society trying to educate people on where they get their puppies.
It’s called the “Horrible Hundred” and it is working to shine a light on the conditions dogs are forced to live through.

The report names one-hundred “so-called” problematic breeders and sellers.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip will close on Wednesday, July 17, as it prepares for renovations and rebranding as a Hard Rock International property.
A spokesperson for Hard Rock International confirmed Wednesday that employees were informed of the closing date. The resort website says reopening is targeted for spring of 2027, meaning the closure would be just shy of three years.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Police are investigating after two "abnormally skinny" children were found knocking on a South Carolina door this week, an incident report states.
Officers said they responded to the 6300 block of Bay Road in Myrtle Beach around 12:30 a.m. on Monday in reference to abandoned children.
When police arrived on scene, a woman told them that she heard knocking on the building's door before seeing two children at the window.

Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — In Huntingdon County, underwater and surface work on portions of Raystown Dam's water release mechanisms began Monday.
The equipment being repaired controls how much water is sent downstream to prevent flooding of homes and businesses around the lake.
The area of the lake downstream from mile marker 1 is now closed to all boat traffic to allow for the repairs.
The closure is expected to be in place through the end of October.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State has fired its Offensive Coordinator Mike Yurcich following the Nittany Lions' 24-15 loss to Michigan on Saturday.
According to multiple reports, Yurcich was relieved of his coaching duties on Sunday, a decision that was confirmed by the University Sunday afternoon.
Yurcich was hired by Penn State in 2021 after serving as the OC the year prior at the University of Texas.
Penn State Insider Audrey Snyder notes that Yurcich' replacement will be the sixth offensive coordinator under head coach James Franklin.
JOHNSTOWN - Another private for-profit school is closing.
Friday was the last day of business for the Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology in Johnstown and Dubois.
Owner Dan Leaser says closing is the hardest thing he has ever had to do.
"They don't even have a job now, that's crazy," said Desiree Albany, who works nearby.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUUNTY, Md. — An Anne Arundel County elementary school teacher has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing eight students.
Matthew Schlegel, 44, was taken into custody Thursday morning at his home in Severna Park. He faces more than 30 charges, ranging from second-degree assault to sex abuse of a minor. Schlegel is a third-grade math teacher at Severna Park Elementary school.
According to charging documents, all of the alleged victims are current or former students of Schlegel, and the alleged abuse occurred in the classroom.

DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Several fireworks were ignited as a fire ripped through a Derry Township home Tuesday night.
According to NBC affiliate WPXI, the flames broke out just after 9:30 p.m. at a home along North Ruby Street.
Authorities told WPXI one firefighter was taken to a hospital for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported, but two adults and several children were displaced by the fire.

The defendant claims he was wrongly convicted, partially due to the role of the FBI reviewing the evidence.
It was along a roadway near Bellefonte where the body of a teenage runaway from Maine, 17-year-old Dawn Marie Birnbaum, was found in March of 1993.
The following year, James Cruz was convicted of murdering Birnbaum and sentenced to life in prison.

UPMC announced Wednesday that the hospital system is planning to lay off approximately 1,000 employees/positions, citing ongoing "post-pandemic challenges."
In a statement, UPMC says that the healthcare industry as a whole continues to be impacted by the "still evolving, post-pandemic marketplace."
Officials say the layoffs will likely come in the form of closing open positions or eliminating certain "non-clinical" staff members.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Nearly two weeks after the recent primary election, close to 100 mail-in ballots in Centre County are being challenged as to whether they are valid ballots that should be counted.
Election officials say 98 mail-in ballots were initially counted as valid by Centre County's election board, but they remain under review.
The issue is how the returned ballots were dated, or not dated.
On election day, the county's primary count center noted possible problems with how the ballots’ outer envelopes were dated.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker earned widespread attention last week after delivering a commencement address at Catholic liberal arts school Benedictine College. One of the eaglets in the PA Farm Country Eagle Nest hatched Wednesday morning, the Pennsylvania Game Commission announced.
The eggs were laid back in February.

Officials with UPMC announced that the hospital system will soon be lifting its temporary masking policy, which had been reinstated in December in response to a rise in respiratory illness cases.
According to a UPMC spokesperson, the policy will be lifted, beginning Feb. 29th.

WESTMONT - Classes are expected to start on time for students at Westmont Hilltop School District.
During Monday night’s school board meeting, the concern of asbestos in the high school building was a concern on if the date would be pushed back.

Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — A Bedford County man who was accused of shooting his cousin last year and then conspiring to burn his body has entered a guilty plea in the case.
According to officials with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Derek Louk entered a plea to one count of third-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the death of Tyler Matthai last April.
Authorities say Louk admitted to fatally shooting Matthai on April 26, 2022, and then conspiring with two others to burn the body and cover up the crime.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Marcus Taczanowsky was sentenced Tuesday to 39-84 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter and simple assault related charges after the death of Jessie Gordon.
The prosecution asked for consecutive sentences.
Taczanowsky pleaded guilty in January to multiple charges.
He will also have to pay $3,500 in fees.
Gordon was found unresponsive in her Westmont home in November 2017.
The 34-year old-old was taken to the hospital and remained on life support for about a week before she died.
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A “controversial proposal" to add an outdoor recreational area for inmates at the Centre County Prison has been discussed for years.
The idea is now moving forward, but it's still a slow process.
After issuing an RFQ request for qualifications last month, the Centre County Commissioners say only one company responded to the idea of further studying the feasibility of adding an outdoor rec area at the county prison.
UPDATE:CLEARFIELD CO, Pa (WJAC) — State police have released additional details about missing Clearfield County man Gerard Joseph Flango Jr., who was last seen nearly three weeks ago.
Authorities say Flango is a 48-year-old white male, who was last seen on surveillance video at the Family Dollar store, along the 1100 block of Old Town Road in Clearfield, on May 16th.
Troopers say the video shows Flango wearing a camo ball cap, black T-shirt and blue jeans.

SAINT MARYS, Pa. (WJAC) — At least two people were seriously injured in a crash involving a Fed Ex truck in St. Marys Monday afternoon, according to Elk County officials.
Officials say the crash happened just before 2 p.m. on the 300 block of Route 120.
They say a Fed Ex truck and passenger vehicle collided, damaging several vehicles that were parked nearby.
According to Elk County emergency officials, the Fed Ex driver was injured along with the passenger of the other vehicle.
STONYCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County are investigating a fatal accident that happened Saturday morning.
According to a release, 21-year-old Alex Fitchett died after falling off an all-terrain vehicle on Boone Road near Huckleberry Highway.
Police said while Fitchett was driving, he hit a large puddle and fell off the ATV. Officials said Fitchett died from his injuries after falling off the vehicle.
State police and the Somerset County coroner are investigating.

HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Wolf announced Wednesday the retention of 438 jobs over the next three years and major upgrades to the Domtar Corporation in Elk and Clearfield counties.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — An investigation is being conducted into the death of two-time PGA Tour winner and Florida residentGrayson Murray.
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department said on Tuesday that it is investigating the 30-year-old golfer's death, which occurred inside a residence within city limits on May 25 at around 11 a.m.
Following an initial investigation, police said there does not appear to be any signs of foul play.
Jefferson Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Jefferson County District Attorney's office confirmed that a former resident of the Punxsutawney area has been sentenced up to 180 years in prison for repeatedly sexually abusing a young girl.
Officials say Douglas Poole was sentenced last Friday to serve 90 to 180 years after being convicted last November.
Poole was found guilty on all 61 charges he faced, which included rape, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault.
NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa. (WJAC) — The former site of a shirt factory in Northern Cambria is getting new owners.
According to the Northern Cambria Borough manager, the borough received three bids for the property and accepted one from Med-Van Transport.
The transportation company owns property across the street from the vacant lot.
Med-Van's bid also included a metal structure that sits on the lot.
The property was home to the former Phillip and Jones Van Heusen shirt factory but has been vacant for more than 10 years.
BEDFORD -- The former Bedford County Jail is now home to Firesong Handweaving Studio.
But the owner is selling the building, hoping the property will bring a new business to town.
Diane Kelly owns both the handweaving studio and Firesong Farm, a working sheep farm in Schellsburg. She uses the wool from her sheep to create one-of-a-kind scarfs and clothing.

It's the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week and the Spangler Fire Company in Northern Cambria is giving back to their community.
The Spangler Fire Company applied for a FEMA grant this past year and was awarded 16 thousand dollars.
They used those funds to supply 200 homes in Northern Cambria Borough and West Carroll Township with 2 smoke alarms and 1 carbon monoxide detector each.

BOGGS TWP., Pa. -- State police in Centre County said they took about 156-pounds of marijuana off the streets.
Troopers say they stopped Li Wu of Chicago along I-80 Tuesday morning in Boggs Township.
Court documents said he had the marijuana stuffed in three large garbage bags and three more laundry bags in the trunk of his car.
He was taken to the Centre County jail and held on $200,000 bail.
BMW must be angling to be on Santa’s good list. A week after announcing it would no longer charge extra for Apple CarPlay, BMW announced Wednesday that it would finally introduce Android Auto compatibility in its vehicles by July, 2020.

WASHINGTON (7News) — The catastrophic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26 has galvanized a comprehensive federal, state, and local government response. President Joe Biden has officially requested Congress pay to rebuild the Key Bridge. Maryland transportation officials estimate it will cost $1.9 billion to rebuild.
On Wednesday, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure held a pivotal hearing to discuss the accident’s cause, ongoing clean-up effort, and plans to rebuild the key piece of American infrastructure.
The annual Howard Fire Company indoor yard sale is in full swing in Centre County.
The three-day yard sale is at the fire company banquet hall.

Cambria County, Pa. (WJAC) — Closed for months because of the coronavirus pandemic, Edward Troll the owner of Richland Cinemas, says movie theatres across the country are suffering including his.
Troll reopened Richland Cinemas in June when Cambria County entered the green phase of the states reopening plan. However, the only thing Troll had to show on the big screen were old movies as no new releases were coming from Hollywood because of the pandemic.
RIDGWAY - Four boys were playing basketball on Sunday when an unexpected player joined them.
"He was driving along the street and he asked if we wanted him to play PIG and we said yes," 8-year-old Joel Neureiter said. "He said whoever wins gets ice cream and then we were playing and having fun," 12-year-old Aaron Hoy said. "The cop won so he said he'll buy everyone ice cream."

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Jase McDowell, a high school soccer player from South Carolina who suffered a severe brain bleed during a game in March, is finally spending some time at home.

SOMERSET - Somerset state police are investigating an incident after they said they caught two adults providing drugs to children and teens in the borough.
Police said Jennifer Coughenour, 28, of Somerset, and Ryan Williams, 27, of Somerset, were found in a children's playhouse in the woods near Roof Garden Mobile Home Park in Somerset Township supplying marijuana to four children.
According to documents, the adults were smoking with the children and teens - three males and a female, ages 11 to 17 - as well.
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police say a West Virginia man was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash, involving a tractor-trailer, in Bedford County.
Investigators say 70-year-old Walter Kwapien, of Morgantown, WV, was reportedly stopped at a stop sign, near the intersection of Allegheny Road and Hyndman Road, in Manns Choice Borough.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A judge has barred enforcement of an executive order signed by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney last week banning guns and deadly weapons from the city’s indoor and outdoor recreation spaces, including parks, basketball courts and pools.
Common Pleas Judge Joshua Roberts on Monday ordered Philadelphia “permanently enjoined” from enforcing the order after a legal challenge, citing Pennsylvania state law that prohibits any city or county from passing gun-control measures, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The NFL released its schedule on Thursday night and we now know who and when the Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Chester, PA — A four-year-old child was fatally shot Tuesday morning, around 9 a.m., at a gas station in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Chester police vehicles and yellow crime time could be seen stretched between two of the gas pumps.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - A man charged in connection with a 2014 murder was sentenced Tuesday.
Keith Reed was sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison after he was found guilty in March of conspiracy third-degree in the 2014 shooting death of Tony Phillips.
The sentence is the maximum Reed can get for the crime.
Reed will be credited for time served, nearly four years, and his attorney, Tim Burns, said he is going to file an appeal in the coming days, citing Rule 600, claiming Reed was not given the right to a speedy trial.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Local law enforcement agencies are searching for a registered sex offender who allegedly sexually assaulted a victim before stealing their vehicle in Elizabethtown. According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's office, on Dec. 17 around 8:05 a.m., 38-year-old Shane Kelec raped and assaulted a victim.

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General have filed charges against the president of the local Cambria County Crime Stoppers, as well as his brother, after the two were accused of assaulting another man at a Geistown-area restaurant earlier this year.
Investigators say on January 18th, police were called to the Bistro Restaurant, in Geistown Borough, for a reported assault.
According to the affidavit, authorities say Gary and Jerry Martin were alleged to have physically assaulted another man during an altercation at the bar.
The Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Junior High State Championships took place right here at the Cambria County War Memorial over the weekend. Hundreds of people showed up to the event.
The tournament has been around since 1963 and bolsters the local economy. An estimated three thousand people filter through the area over the span of the competition.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The inside of the Huntingdon Salvation Army church was destroyed by fire just before Christmas. Now, leaders are working towards rebuilding.

Killingworth, Connecticut — A wildlife rehabilitation center in Killingworth, Connecticut shared some advice on social media on Monday: "birds don't let other birds fly drunk."
Watertown animal control picked up two black vultures who were in bad shape over the weekend.
When they got to "A Place Called Hope" rehab center in Killingworth, they appeared to be dying.

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — There’s outrage Friday about vandalism at a beloved holiday display in the area, but repair work is already underway.
Simply known as “the Big Santa,” the nearly 40-foot-tall, plywood Santa along with toy soldiers and a bag of toys, has been a fixture in the Philipsburg area since the 1960's.
This past December, members of the Philipsburg Elks and other volunteers put up the display together at the Cold Stream Dam Park.

CAMBRIA CO, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Cambria County have arrested and charged a Portage man who is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl on multiple occasions, according to a criminal complaint.
Troopers say 28-year-old Andrew Maul faces charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault and corruption of minors, according to court documents.
The complaint states that troopers were notified of the assaults in June by Cambria County CYS.

(TND) — A Kentucky court has postponed pro golfer Scottie Scheffler's appearance on charges that he injured a police officer and disobeyed commands outside the gates of Valhalla Golf Club as the venue hosted this year's PGA Championship. We learned about the postponing after Scheffler, who was handcuffed and briefly jailed on Friday, had been due in court Tuesday, after his May 17 arrest at the PGA Championship for reportedly not following police instructions during a pedestrian fatality investigation.
Cambria County, Pa. (WJAC) — The Little Conemaugh River was stocked with fish in Cambria County on Saturday afternoon.
Volunteers released trout from the Route 53 Bridge in Wilmore to the breast of the Wilmore Dam.
The Wilmore Sportsman's Club raises about 8,000 of these trout every year, according to Marlin Minor, a long-time member of the club.

METZ, W.Va. (AP) — Three people were killed when a small plane crashed in northern West Virginia, authorities said.
Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Riffle told WV News that the pilot and two passengers were found dead at the scene. The aircraft was found “on a steep incline in a heavily wooded area,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The single-engine plane was flying from Bloomfield, Indiana, to Myerstown, Pennsylvania, when it went down Thursday in the Marion County community of Metz, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a news release.

Investigators say 44-year-old Jason Svonavec was previously charged following an investigation by the IRS.
Authorities say Svonavec allegedly evaded "tax liability," in 2017, by illegally expensing the construction of his home through two companies that he operates.
Officials say in 2018, Svonavec then reportedly filed false tax deductions on his income tax return related to the construction.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A major court ruling in the proposed State College casino project looks to expedite a lot of the legal issues that have been raised since a license was approved for the casino.
Last week, in what’s termed an extraordinary move, the state Supreme Court basically consolidated the outstanding, casino-related issues into one case that will be argued before the court.
Later this week, a series of arguments were scheduled for a commonwealth court hearing but now, they’ve all been cancelled.
SOMERSET - A waitress at a local Pizza Hut received a big tip from a customer at the beginning of the month, enough to put her back on her feet again.
Krystal Kramer works at the Pizza Hut in Somerset County. She started in August, along with working at Area Aging Services.
In December, Kramer said her apartment flooded, leaving her and her roommate the only choice of living in a hotel.
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Police say a Bedford is facing charges after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman, through an open window, as she was getting out of her car.
According to the affidavit, Bedford Police were contacted in late March after a woman reported that a man had exposed himself to her through a window, while also "touching himself," at a residence along South Richard Street.
Police say the man was later identified as 25-year-old Robert Imler Jr.
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A bus driver in South Carolina has been fired after parents say she turned off the air conditioning on a special education bus to punish the children on board.
The incident happened in Lexington School District Two. The parents are demanding justice for their children.
According to the National Weather Service, it was 91 degrees the day, and the driver, Patricia Douglas was accused of turning off the A/C on that special education bus during the ride home.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State University officials announced that former Lady Lion Kathy Drysdale passed away Friday at the age of 53.
Drysdale was a star basketball player during her time at Penn State and then spent 13 years as a member of the university's athletics department.

WASHINGTON (TND) — Leaders of the agencies overseeing the federal government’s response to the catastrophic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore earlier this year testified to lawmakers about the ongoing efforts to clear the wreckage from the crash site and the monumental task facing engineers and crews to get the port reopened and plan construction for a replacement bridge.
It has been over two months since the cargo ship Dali crashed into a support structure of the Key Bridge, bringing it crumbling down into the Patapsco River and killing six construction workers who were unable to escape the bridge before its collapse.
WINSLOW, Maine (WGME) — Police say two packages that were misdelivered to a home in Winslow, Maine contained nearly 30 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills with a potential street value of up to $2 million.
The Winslow Police Department says they got a report from a resident on May 3 about a misdelivered package. The package was sent from California and the resident told police they had not ordered anything nor were they expecting any delivery.
ALTOONA – Archway Ministries in Altoona will be hosting a motorcycle run June 4 to benefit their food pantry.
It will be a 100-mile ride starting at the ministry and ending at Ajay’s Tavern. The event goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost to participate is $15 for drivers and $10 for passengers. All of the money raised goes to support the food pantry, which serves over 200 people every month.
Punxsutawney's Home for the Holidays Parade and Fireworks will be held on Saturday, November 24th.

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The argument between the Somerset County Commissioners and Treasurer -- over where $25 million of county money should be invested -- has turned into a legal battle.

LAKE CITY, S.C. (WPDE) — Larry Morganti is a Florence resident and artist whose work is displayed at a vendor shop in Lake City called "The Vault."
He was the crew chief on a C-123 cargo plane during the Vietnam War as part of the 311th Squadron of the Air Force from October 1967 to October 1968.
Oftentimes, Morganti would transport supplies to Marine camps and move wounded and deceased bodies.
An official with FirstEnergy said energy rates going up is not a done deal, but they are looking to have the prices raised next January.

Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Huntingdon County say a Saxton man is behind bars, accused of sending nude photos and videos to a 15-year-old girl via social media.
Troopers say the investigation into 25-year-old Elvin Donelson began in May when police received a report of a teen who was receiving sexually explicit messages through Snapchat.
Police say, at the time, authorities did not know the identity of the individual who was sending the messages until the victim received a Facebook friend request from the same individual.

ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Employees at the James E van Zandt VA medical center in Altoona handed out between 700 and 1,000 washable cloth masks on Wednesday to veterans.
The masks will help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and any veteran who has a VA identification card can receive one.
The masks were made by the doctors, nurses and the administrative staff.
The staff says close to 1,700 masks have been produced in the past two weeks and the employees have been excited to help.

Chief Inspector Frank Vanore said 39-year-old Keith Gibson is believed responsible for the slaying early Saturday of 40-year-old Christine Lugo. He was arrested after a drugstore robbery and assault early Tuesday in Wilmington, Delaware and is being investigated in a number of other robberies and slayings.
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A kick-off event was held Thursday night in Somerset County to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Stoystown.
The celebrations took place at the Stoystown Historical Society.

Twenty-five-year-old inmate Nafese Pierce is charged with criminal homicide in the death of 24-year-old fellow inmate Edgar Gearhart, who was stabbed Jan. 28 in his cell at the State Correctional Institution-Dallas. Twenty-five-year-old corrections officer Osmel Martinez of Kingston is charged with involuntary manslaughter, obstruction of justice and unknown falsification to authorities, accused of allowing the crime and then ignoring concerns from other inmates about the victim's injuries.
UPDATE | Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Huntingdon County have identified the human remains found in Morris Township as Jedediah Rawlings, an Alexandria man who fled from troopers earlier this year after threatening police with knives.
In late January, troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Rawlings' vehicle, at which time he reportedly led police on a pursuit.
During the chase, authorities say Rawlings stopped in a parking lot where he threatened two troopers with knives before getting back into his vehicle.
SAN FRANCISCO (TND) — Adam Nathan, board chair for The Salvation Army San Francisco, criticized the city’s managed alcohol program last week for distributing drinks to people addicted to alcohol.

WELLSVILLE, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say a York County man is charged with shooting and killing his father following an argument.
According to NBC affiliate WGAL, the shooting happened late Monday night at a home along Carroll Street in Wellsville. Wyatt Dettinger, 21, now faces charges of that include criminal homicide.
WGAL reports Dettinger was in a "fit of rage" in his bedroom and began hitting a television with his hands and a rifle.

The Pennsylvania hunting and trapping season licenses are set to go on sale June 13.

The court has a floating floor design, meaning there's empty space between the foundation and floorboards.

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to Pittsburgh Steelers inside reporter Gerry Dulac, quarterback Kenny Pickett reportedly underwent "tightrope" surgery on his ankle Monday morning.
Pickett left Sunday's game in the second quarter after injuring his ankle while scrambling towards the goal line on a third down.
Following the surgery, Pickett is expected to be out at least two to four weeks, according to reports.
However, Dulac reports that the Steelers are hopeful that Pickett can return by month's end.

WYOMISSING HILLS, Pa. (AP) — Federal officials say a small earthquake in eastern Pennsylvania didn't cause any damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 1.6 magnitude quake occurred around 10:50 p.m. Sunday near Wyomissing Hills in Berks County.
Several residents reported hearing a loud boom and said the quake shook bookshelves and caused their doors to briefly rattle.
Officials say earthquakes with a magnitude between 1.0 and 3.0 aren't typically felt by residents.

WISCONSIN (TND) — Wildfire smoke from Canada has reached the United States and an air quality advisory has been issued for multiple states. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued an air quality advisory in nearly 60 counties and warned the entire state could be impacted by smoke Monday. Some portions of the state may increase to an unhealthy air quality level. The full advisory from the DNR states:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (TND) — The world's top golfer and Masters champion Scott Scheffler was back at the PGA Championship a few hours after being arrested Friday morning for reportedly not following police instructions during a a pedestrian fatality investigation.

UPDATE |RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (WJAC) — Richland Township police have released new information regarding Wednesday night's crash on Route 219, in Cambria County, that sent two people to the hospital.
Police say a Richland Township police officer was conducting a traffic stop, near the Elton Road exit, and a second officer had stopped to assist.
Authorities say during the course of the traffic stop, a man had entered 219 southbound, via the bypass, and continued traveling along the berm of the road.

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Blair County say an Altoona woman is behind bars after an animal cruelty investigation led to the discovery of multiple dead ferrets that she had reportedly stolen from another individual.

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Penguins veteran defenseman Kris Letang returned to practice Thursday, just ten days after suffering a stroke.
The team announced last week that Letang would be "out indefinitely" after suffering his second stroke on Monday, Nov. 28th.
"Kris reported symptoms to the training staff and was immediately taken to the hospital for testing," said GM Ron Hextall.
Letang previously missed playing time in 2014 after suffering a stroke.

COALPORT, Pa. (WJAC) — State police say a man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting two people at a Minit Mart and threatening them with a shotgun.
According to a release, troopers say the incident happened at the Coalport Minit Mart along Main Street sometime around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Troopers say 59-year-old Kenneth Selvage assaulted a 38-year-old man and 35-year-old woman with a wooden club. According to the release, Selvage went to his vehicle and got a shotgun.

TYRONE, Pa. (WJAC) — Following their preliminary investigation, Peoples Natural Gas says they believe they know what caused a deadly house explosion in Tyrone last month.
Peoples Spokesperson Barry Kukovich says the company has been led to believe that the gas leak was caused by a pipeline being struck by a horizontal drill operated by a contractor working on a water project.
“Our preliminary investigation leads us to believe that the gas leak on July 26th in Tyrone, Pennsylvania was due to our pipeline being struck by a horizontal drill operated by a contractor working on a water project,” Kukovich said in a statement emailed to 6 News.
PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly signing free-agent wide-receiver Scotty Miller to a one-year deal.

CLEARFIELD CO, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Lawrence Township Fire Department say no one was injured after a tractor trailer caught fire earlier Saturday in the parking lot of the Clearfield Sheetz, located along Clearfield/Shawville Highway.
The department says they were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. for a reported vehicle fire near the gas pumps.
Officials say it took crews approximately one hour to extinguish the blaze.

WASHINGTON (TND) — Members of Congress turned to K-12 schools after college protests and antisemitic incidents erupted across the country. Some members on Capitol Hill believe grade school is where antisemitism begins, while school administrators pushed back on the claim that antisemitism is running rampant through their halls.
House Republicans grilled three school leaders from large school districts and liberal cities nationwide. The school officials from New York City, Berkeley, California, and Montgomery County, Maryland have all faced allegations of antisemitic incidents in their schools, including hate speech and harassment.

Kobe is a four-year-old husky.
Last month, his owner, Channel Bell, noticed he was digging a hole in the yard which he has never done before.

Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Former Somerset County 911 coordinator Brad Lavan has been charged with sexually abusing five children at his Somerset Borough home.
According to multiple probable-cause affidavits, borough police began investigating 30-year-old Lavan on Jan. 25 after reports of the abuse.
The abuse occurred, according to the affidavits, between January 2021 and January of this year when some of the children were at Lavan’s home for sleepovers or play dates with his children.
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Hollidaysburg-based Sideline Cancer basketball team has donated over $300,000 to pancreatic cancer research, given over $10,000 to patients directly, and were The Basketball Tournament runners up in 2020.
The latest thing they're adding to their resume -- doesn't have to do with basketball or cancer -- it's helping to save someone from a war-torn country.

Hackers broke into Jones' website and posted her personal items including her driver's license, passport and nude photos, reports TMZ. The New York Daily News reported the hackers also topped the website with a video tribute to Harambe, the widely-known gorilla who was shot earlier this year at the Cincinnati Zoo to protect a child who fell into his enclosure.

Troopers say a liaison for one area Amish community reported that 31-year-old Gideon Byler, of Gordonville, had been accused of touching several juveniles, ranging from 3 to 10 years of age, within the community.
Investigators say the liaison noted that Byler had been sent away to a facility following the accusations.
WASHINGTON (TND) — You soon won't be able to get a highly caffeinated drink at Panera. The company is "phasing out" its "Charged Lemonades" at all locations, according to a company spokesperson. Instead, Panera will be adding new "exciting," "trend flavors," "low-sugar" and "low-caffeine" drink options to its menu.
The menu change comes after Panera's caffeinated beverages were blames for the deaths of at least two people that sparked lawsuits.

911 dispatchers say crews were called to a residence in Nicktown, just before 3:30 p.m. Monday, for reports of a person on fire outside. Officials say the man was flown to a hospital in Allegheny County where he later passed away after suffering third-degree burns to 70% of his body.
CAMBRIA CO., Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Game Commission-Southwest Region has announced details regarding a December 2023 illegal taking of a trophy white-tailed deer in Cambria County.
According to a post on their Facebook page, the game commission stated that a game warden's investigation into the incident suggested that Zachary Burgan and Matthew Koenig illegally shot a 169” Boone and Crockett trophy at night, from a vehicle, with the use of the vehicle headlights.
