West Hills Community Church celebrates groundbreaking ceremony at new location

Johnstown, Pa. (WJAC) — West Hills Community Church is moving to a new location, says their lead pastor David Streets. Church leaders celebrated the move with a groundbreaking ceremony Sunday afternoon. Streets says the church has been renting space out of the Westmont Church of the Brethren, along Sunshine Avenue in Westmont, since 2014. The new location of the church is 175 Woodmont Road, near Westmont Hilltop High School in Upper Yoder Township.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (TND) — People were asked to avoid the downtown area of Youngstown, Ohio, Tuesday after a major explosion blew out windows of businesses including a Chase bank branch. “Emergency services are on the scene, and the situation is being actively managed,” police wrote earlier in the evening, adding, “Stay away from the vicinity to allow emergency personnel to address the situation without obstruction.”The Youngstown Fire Department reported it was from a possible natural gas leak.

Greater Johnstown Community YMCA celebrates 50 years of accepting women as members

Local constable accused of 'impersonating public servant,' illegally removing farm animal

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County say a Meyersdale man is facing charges, accused of "impersonating a public servant" and "illegally removing an animal" from a local farm. Investigators say on April 6th, troopers were dispatched to a farm along Greenville Road, in Greenville Township, for reports of a dispute over a farm animal. Police say 60-year-old George Porter allegedly stole a Mouflon Ram from the victim's farm.
