SOMERSET CO, Pa (WJAC) — Despite the annual Somerset firework show being canceled, over a dozen local businesses joined forces to find a new way to celebrate the holiday, all while staying socially distant.
One of the most popular ways to celebrate Fourth of July weekend is by watching fireworks, but this year’s firework shows are being put out across the region.
That’s when local business owner, Rick Sferro, of ServPro, came up with an idea.

Several other summer favorites are returning to the menu a little early this year, including Oreo and cotton candy. LANCASTER COUNTY, Penn. (WKRC) — A Wendy's manager was charged after she allegedly created a "ghost employee" to steal over $20,000. According to Business Insider, Linda Johnson, a former general manager at a Wendy's in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, allegedly created a "ghost employee" named William Bright so that she could steal the wages. Per the outlet, Johnson manually logged 128 shifts for Bright at the location she managed.Lancaster Online reported that it was a task only the general manager could perform.

DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Several fireworks were ignited as a fire ripped through a Derry Township home Tuesday night.
According to NBC affiliate WPXI, the flames broke out just after 9:30 p.m. at a home along North Ruby Street.
Authorities told WPXI one firefighter was taken to a hospital for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported, but two adults and several children were displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to WPXI.
