FAIRFAX, Va. (7News) — About a dozen George Mason University students walked out of their graduation ceremony Thursday morning during Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin's commencement speech.

UPMC announced Wednesday that the hospital system is planning to lay off approximately 1,000 employees/positions, citing ongoing "post-pandemic challenges."

Officials say the layoffs will likely come in the form of closing open positions or eliminating certain "non-clinical" staff members.

WASHINGTON (TND) — Two NFL head coaches are weighing in on a controversial speech by one player as it makes waves throughout the league.
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker earned widespread attention last week after delivering a commencement address at Catholic liberal arts school Benedictine College. In the address, the NFL player took aim at policies of President Joe Biden and encouraged women to embrace becoming a “homemaker.”
“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” Butker said to the school’s female graduates.
