Local students create mural for Somerset Co. Turnpike plaza

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Students at one Somerset County school district showed off their artwork on Monday. Shanksville-Stonycreek high school spent 20 days working on a two-piece mural for the PA Turnpike's North Somerset service plaza. The mural depicts historical and recreational points of interest in Somerset County for travelers to see. Spangler Fire Company gives back to the community during Fire Prevention Week

It's the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week and the Spangler Fire Company in Northern Cambria is giving back to their community. The Spangler Fire Company applied for a FEMA grant this past year and was awarded 16 thousand dollars. 156 lbs. of pot found in car on I-80

BOGGS TWP., Pa. -- State police in Centre County said they took about 156-pounds of marijuana off the streets. Troopers say they stopped Li Wu of Chicago along I-80 Tuesday morning in Boggs Township. Court documents said he had the marijuana stuffed in three large garbage bags and three more laundry bags in the trunk of his car. He was taken to the Centre County jail and held on $200,000 bail.
