Local Crime Stoppers president, brother accused of assaulting man at Geistown restaurant

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General have filed charges against the president of the local Cambria County Crime Stoppers, as well as his brother, after the two were accused of assaulting another man at a Geistown-area restaurant earlier this year. Investigators say on January 18th, police were called to the Bistro Restaurant, in Geistown Borough, for a reported assault. According to the affidavit, authorities say Gary and Jerry Martin were alleged to have physically assaulted another man during an altercation at the bar.

Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling hosts Junior High State Championships in Johnstown

The Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Junior High State Championships took place right here at the Cambria County War Memorial over the weekend. Hundreds of people showed up to the event. The tournament has been around since 1963 and bolsters the local economy. An estimated three thousand people filter through the area over the span of the competition. “It’s great for the community," said George LeGrand, Tournament Chairman. "We fill the hotels. State police ID man killed after head-on crash involving dump truck in Huntingdon County

UPDATEHUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Huntingdon County. It happened on Route 453 in Warriors Mark Township around 7 a.m. State police say a Chevy Trail Blazer was traveling south when the driver, William Brown, lost control around a turn. They say Brown's vehicle entered the opposite lane and crashed head on into a dump truck hauling 23 tons of stone.

State Rep. Frank Burns holds annual senior fair in Johnstown

Cambria County senior citizens came together for a one stop event for health and well-being. State Representative Frank Burns hosted his annual senior fair Friday at Bottle Works in Johnstown. More than 30 vendors were there providing information on various services and state-related programs, including healthcare, tax and rent rebates as well as unclaimed property. Burns said, “A lot of what’s on their minds is getting their REAL IDs, through our office, and getting the state department to help them with various issues.
