Israeli military probe cites secondary explosion in deadly Gaza tent camp fire

WAFAA SHURAFA and SAMY MAGDY Associated Press — The Israeli military says an initial investigation into a strike that sparked a deadly weekend fire in a tent camp in the southern Gaza city of Rafah has found the blaze was caused by a secondary explosion. A military official, speaking on condition of anonymity pending a formal announcement, said Tuesday that the military fired two 17-kilogram (37-pound) munitions that targeted two senior Hamas militants.

Massive fire destroys Blair County lumberyard

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Photos show the aftermath of the massive fire at a Blair County lumberyard. Officials say flames and smoke initially broke out at the US Lumber facility, in Claysburg, around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities say all the workers were able to escape the blaze and no injuries were reported. A state police fire marshal has been called in to help investigate the cause of the massive fire.

No injuries reported after tractor trailer catches fire at Clearfield Sheetz

CLEARFIELD CO, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Lawrence Township Fire Department say no one was injured after a tractor trailer caught fire earlier Saturday in the parking lot of the Clearfield Sheetz, located along Clearfield/Shawville Highway. The department says they were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. for a reported vehicle fire near the gas pumps. Officials say it took crews approximately one hour to extinguish the blaze. Public school leaders grilled on Capitol Hill over antisemitic incidents in grade schools

WASHINGTON (TND) — Members of Congress turned to K-12 schools after college protests and antisemitic incidents erupted across the country. Some members on Capitol Hill believe grade school is where antisemitism begins, while school administrators pushed back on the claim that antisemitism is running rampant through their halls. House Republicans grilled three school leaders from large school districts and liberal cities nationwide. The school officials from New York City, Berkeley, California, and Montgomery County, Maryland have all faced allegations of antisemitic incidents in their schools, including hate speech and harassment.

Traffic delays expected as Penn State football season kicks off

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A new Penn State football season brings more traffic to the State College area. But this year, construction on nearby highways might cause more delays than usual. PennDOT has sent out the following warnings to drivers coming to the games from out of town: From the Harrisburg area: On Route 283 in southeastern Dauphin County, there are lane restrictions (one lane each direction) between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Route 341 (Toll House Road).
