Recent court ruling prohibits any part of PA driver's license plate from being covered

Did you know you can get pulled over if any part of your license plate is covered? Last week, a decision in state court reaffirmed law enforcement's authority to do so, and that includes covering the bottom part that has the state's tourism website: visitpa.com. The ruling came in a case where a Philadelphia driver was pulled over for having a frame that covered that website. The ACLU told our NBC Affiliate WGAL that the ruling means frames put on cars by dealerships, or even to show love for a favorite sports team, could result in a ticket and a $100 fine.

State College store giving free baby formula, taking donations

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — The baby formula shortage has prompted communities across the country to take things into their own hands. One business in State College is doing just that, to help families. This shortage has put an immense strain on families' finances and the well-being of their infants. Seeing this, the company Kid To Kid sought to help not only the families who shop at the store, but families all over the area.

Johnstown Christmas tree assembled in Central Park

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Johnstown's Central Park. With snow falling down, crews arrived around 8 a.m. Tuesday to begin building the frame of the Christmas tree. The final product is 36 feet tall and will be topped with a 4-foot star. The tree draws thousands of people throughout the holiday season. Organizers say it's a way to boost holiday spirit in the city and maybe even start new traditions.

Lancaster Co. man accused of inappropriately touching multiple children

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Centre County have filed charges against a Lancaster County man following an investigation into accusations that he inappropriately touched multiple young children. Troopers say a liaison for one area Amish community reported that 31-year-old Gideon Byler, of Gordonville, had been accused of touching several juveniles, ranging from 3 to 10 years of age, within the community. Investigators say the liaison noted that Byler had been sent away to a facility following the accusations.

Panera phases out 'Charged Lemonades' nationwide following lawsuits

WASHINGTON (TND) — You soon won't be able to get a highly caffeinated drink at Panera. The company is "phasing out" its "Charged Lemonades" at all locations, according to a company spokesperson. Instead, Panera will be adding new "exciting," "trend flavors," "low-sugar" and "low-caffeine" drink options to its menu. The menu change comes after Panera's caffeinated beverages were blames for the deaths of at least two people that sparked lawsuits.
